Am 10. Februar 2026 durfte die Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria (DSBA) einen besonderen Gast begrüßen: Herr Dr. Schawe, Regionalbeauftragter der Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA), kündigte sich kurzfristig zu einem Besuch und Gespräch an der Schule an.
Herr Dr. Schawe nutzte einen dienstlichen Aufenthalt in Alexandria, um sich am Dienstagnachmittag Zeit für einen intensiven Austausch mit dem Schulvorstand, der Verwaltungsleitung und der Schulleitung zu nehmen. Diese persönliche Begegnung und der direkte Dialog vor Ort sind für unsere Schule von großer Bedeutung.
Im Mittelpunkt der Gespräche stand insbesondere der geplante Schulneubau, dessen Fertigstellung und Bezug im kommenden Jahr vorgesehen sind. Darüber hinaus wurden Fragen der Finanz- und Personalverwaltung erörtert sowie die aktuelle Situation im Hinblick auf lokale Behörden, die Lehrkräfteversorgung und die bewährte Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Botschaft thematisiert.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Gesprächspunkt war die Regionale Netzwerktagung, die noch in diesem Jahr stattfinden wird. Sie knüpft an den regelmäßigen, von der Zentralstelle geförderten Austausch im Zweijahresrhythmus an und stärkt die enge Kooperation der Schulen in der Region.
Der offene und konstruktive Dialog setzte sich bis in die Abendstunden fort und fand seinen Abschluss in einem gemeinsamen Foto als Zeichen der Verbundenheit und Partnerschaft.
Schulvorstand, Verwaltungsleitung und Schulleitung danken Herrn Dr. Schawe herzlich für seinen Besuch sowie für die stets konstruktive und vertrauensvolle Unterstützung in allen Fragen und Anliegen. Für uns ist es von großem Wert, in der Zentralstelle einen zentralen Ansprechpartner zu haben, der die Gegebenheiten vor Ort kennt und Entscheidungen im engen Austausch mit uns begleitet.
Die DSBA versteht diese Zusammenarbeit als tragende Säule ihrer weiteren Entwicklung im Geist gegenseitigen Vertrauens und gemeinsamer Verantwortung.

Distinguished Visitor at DSBA
On 10 February 2026, the Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria (DSBA) had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished guest: Dr Schawe, Regional Representative of the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA), who announced a short-notice visit and meeting at the school.
Dr Schawe took the opportunity of an official stay in Alexandria to devote Tuesday afternoon to an in-depth exchange with the School Board, the Head of Administration and the School Leadership. Such personal encounters and direct dialogue on site are of great importance to our school.
The discussions focused in particular on the planned new school building, which is scheduled for completion and occupation next year. In addition, matters relating to financial and human resources management were addressed, as well as the current situation regarding local authorities, the provision of teaching staff and the well-established cooperation with the German Embassy.
A further important topic was the forthcoming Regional Network Conference, which will take place later this year. It continues the regular exchange, funded by the Central Agency, which is held every two years and strengthens close cooperation among the schools in the region.
The open and constructive dialogue continued into the evening and concluded with a joint photograph as a sign of partnership and mutual commitment.
The School Board, the Head of Administration and the School Leadership extend their sincere thanks to Dr Schawe for his visit and for his consistently constructive and trusting support in all matters and concerns. It is of great value to us to have a dedicated contact person at the Central Agency who is familiar with the local circumstances and who supports decision-making through close and continuous dialogue.
The DSBA regards this cooperation as a cornerstone of its continued development, in a spirit of mutual trust and shared responsibility.
