Faschingsparty an der Deutschen Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria
Bunte Kostüme, fröhliche Musik und strahlender Sonnenschein: Die Faschingsparty an der Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria verwandelte unseren Schulhof in eine lebendige Bühne voller Fantasie und Lebensfreude.
Unsere Schülerinnen nutzten die Gelegenheit, ihre Kreativität in unterschiedlichsten Verkleidungen auszuleben: Von märchenhaften Figuren, natürlich vielen Prinzessinnen über historische Persönlichkeiten bis hin zu fantasievollen Eigenkreationen. Mit viel Mut und Begeisterung präsentierten sie ihre Kostüme auf der Bühne und sorgten für staunende Gesichter und begeisterten Applaus.
Ein besonderes Highlight war das musikalische Programm: Deutsche sowie arabisch-ägyptische Lieder brachten die kulturelle Vielfalt unserer Schule eindrucksvoll zum Ausdruck. Es wurde gesungen, getanzt und gelacht. Eine ausgelassene Stimmung erfüllte den Schulhof. Auch zahlreiche Lehrkräfte (und sogar die Schwestern!) beteiligten sich in kreativen Kostümen und zeigten einmal mehr, dass Schule mehr ist als Unterricht: Sie ist ein Ort der Begegnung, der Gemeinschaft und des Miteinanders.
Organisiert wurde das Fest mit großem Engagement von Frau Schatz sowie Herrn Simon, den Klassenlehrer der Grundschule und der weiterführenden Klassen auch gemeinsam mit Schülerinnen verschiedener Jahrgangsstufen. Ihr Einsatz machte diesen Tag zu einem besonderen Erlebnis für die gesamte Schulgemeinschaft.
Gerade solche Tage zeigen, wie wichtig eine positive Lernatmosphäre ist. Schule ist ein Wohlfühlort: Wo Freude, Bewegung und Gemeinschaft erlebbar werden, gelingt auch das Lernen besser. Die deutsche Sprache stand dabei nicht nur in Liedern im Mittelpunkt, sondern lebte in Moderationen, Gesprächen und Darbietungen weiter. Wenn Lernen mit Freude verbunden ist, bleibt es nachhaltiger im Gedächtnis.
„Es ist so ein schöner Tag, lalalalalaaa“, — Bei frühlingshaften Temperaturen in Alexandria war dieser Faschingstag ein wunderbares Zeichen für Lebendigkeit, Kreativität und Zusammenhalt an unserer Schule.

Carnival Celebration at Deutschen Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria
Colourful costumes, cheerful music and radiant sunshine: the carnival celebration at the Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen Alexandria transformed our school courtyard into a vibrant stage full of imagination and joie de vivre.
Our pupils seized the opportunity to express their creativity in a wide variety of costumes: from fairy-tale characters – including, of course, many princesses – to historical figures and wonderfully imaginative original creations. With great confidence and enthusiasm, they presented their outfits on stage, delighting the audience and earning warm applause.
A particular highlight was the musical programme. German as well as Arabic-Egyptian songs vividly reflected the cultural diversity of our school. There was singing, dancing and laughter, and a joyful atmosphere filled the courtyard. Many members of staff – and even the Sisters – joined in, wearing creative costumes and once again demonstrating that school is far more than lessons alone: it is a place of encounter, community and shared experience.
The celebration was organised with great dedication by Frau Schatz and Herr Simon, class teachers in both the primary and secondary sections, together with pupils from various year groups. Their commitment made the day a truly special occasion for the entire school community.
Days like these show just how important a positive learning environment is. School should be a place where everyone feels at ease: where joy, movement and a sense of belonging are tangible, learning flourishes. The German language was not only at the heart of the songs, but also present in the presentations, conversations and performances throughout the day. When learning is associated with enjoyment, it is remembered all the more effectively.
“Es ist so ein schöner Tag, lalalalalaaa” – and indeed, in the mild spring temperatures of Alexandria, this carnival celebration was a wonderful expression of vitality, creativity and unity within our school.
